What is Feijoada?
More than just a meal, Feijoada (/feɪʒuˈɑːdɐ/ fay-zhwaa-da) is a celebration of Brazilian heritage!
Feijoada is a rich, slow-cooked stew of black beans simmered to perfection with a mouthwatering array of cured and smoked meats. Think flavoursome ingredients melding together in a dark, glossy, and impossibly delicious sauce, served alongside rice, farofa (fried cassava flour), fried spring greens, and a slice of orange to help refresh the palate.
We have invited professional chef and culinary lecturer Chef Luh Sorrino to cook this delicious dish for us.

About Chef Luh Sorrino
Chef Luh Sorrino is an internationally experienced chef with 25 years in professional kitchens across five countries, from Michelin-starred restaurants to family dining. With a Gastronomy degree from SENAC São Paulo and a Master’s in Culinary Innovation from Le Cordon Bleu, she specialises in teaching practical, global home-cooking skills that inspire confidence, creativity, and enjoyment in the kitchen.

Who is this event supporting?
This fundraising event supports Kardec Group, a registered charity who is dedicated to studying and promoting Spiritism, the Spiritualist Philosophy compiled by French educator Allan Kardec.
We organise various activities during the year, including the SPIRITISMx seminars.
Our public meetings take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays. These are discussion-focused, where we read through books by Allan Kardec (such as The Spirits’ Book) and from other authors, and then talk about the topics, seeing how we can use the knowledge for our daily lives.
We have a universal approach to Spiritism and welcome people from all backgrounds to our meetings.
All money raised will help us with the running costs of our activities.
